Giddy-Up Gala
Giddy-Up Gala Retires
Giddy-Up Gala Retires - 2008
After 10 years of successfully raising money for local charities and the Stampede Foundation, the Giddy-Up Gala is retiring.  The Calgary Stampede Queens' Alumni Committee, whose volunteer members have organized the annual event, has decided to shift our energy and resources to other initiatives that support special needs children in Calgary.

The Gala is just one of several Queens' Alumni Committee initiatives that over the past 30 years have created amazing Stampede experiences to benefit children with special needs and their families.  We are very proud that over the past decade the Giddy-Up Gala raised more than $1.2 million for local charities.

In the recent years, however, there has been a remarkable growth in the number of fundraising galas in Calgary. Achieving our annual fundraising goal has meant a dramatically increased volunteer effort, along with other increased costs.   Our committee believes it’s time to look for new ways to support children with special needs.  In addition to continuing our other popular events – Giddy-Up Christmas, Giddy-Up Rodeo, and Giddy-Up Grits – our committee is reviewing other new and exciting initiatives.

The Calgary Stampede Queens' Alumni committee want to thank the many patrons and corporate and individual sponsors who have supported the Giddy-Up Gala over the years.  The passion and commitment of our Royalty volunteers has been fully matched by our loyal and generous sponsors and patrons.  Together, we’ve made magic happen for the children of Calgary.

Thank you for support.
